24^th to 26^th January 2009

TRIP NAME: Bylong Valley/ Ferntree Gully

MEETING TIME & LOCATION: 7.00am Lithgow McDonalds.

DEPARTURE TIME: 7:00am a two hour trip from Lithgow, we will drop in to Kandos to get top ups for the weekend & pickup key.   

WHAT TO BRING: all camping + water + dunnies.

DETAILS OF TRIP/TRIP GRADE: Camping + small Vans, creek crossings can be steep, we can move camp to the second camp site it needed. On the trip back on Monday we will call in to Ferntree Gully Rainforest in Rylstone. Grade 2

Feb 4th: Club meeting at Hubertus club. 7.30pm.

Feb 21st - 22nd. Dunn's  swamp.

Dunn's swamp is a camping ground 25kms east of Rylstone on the banks of the Cudgegong River in the Wollemi National Park ( sorry  no  dogs )

There are only toilets there so bring everything else including water. There is limited firewood supplied so if some others can bring firewood along that would be great.

Easy access for caravans, last few k's are dirt.

There is canoe hire & river tours available & some fantastic walking tracks plus 1 track which  we are yet to explore.

Cost is $10/site/night. Please bring the correct money as this is an "honesty  box" collection system. DIRECTIONS; As you are coming into Rylstone just before you get into the town take the right hand turn to Wollemi N.P. (big green sign) near the hospital .
