Trip report.

6' TRACK, SUNDAY 14.6.2009

A very well attended  and enjoyable trip. We kicked off from Mt.Victoria pretty much on time and head on down Cox's River Road, where we were treated to some wonderful scenery of rolling hills , all looking their best after recent rain and some terrific looking homesteads.

Stopped for morning tea at the camping grounds on the Cox's River, giving everyone a chance to stretch their legs and met the newcomers. From here we continued along the 6' track enjoying the changing scenery and the odd dead roo.

As we drew nearer to Jenolan Caves the weather started to deteriorate becoming colder, overcast and light rain. At the turn off to Kanangra Walls we were lucky to find some good patches of snow  and so like a rat up a drain pipe we were all out of the cars and into the snowball scene. Gloria was especially happy as it was her first experience of snow, Joshua was particularly  good at sneaking up and letting you have a snowball on the scone.

From here we travelled out to Kanangra Walls with the weather worsening and the outside temperature 3 degrees.....ouch ! Lunch was taken in the huddled position followed by a power walk out to the walls and back , then onto Oberon for a coffee in front of the fire and the end of the trip.

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and their was a high level of camaraderie which was nice.

Michelle Sullivan scored uber points for the sisterhood by driving Dad's 4WD for the second part of the trip, doing an excellent job !

Thankyou to Colin & Renate for organising the day, we all had fun.

Kev & Ellen

Sergeant-at Arms report, Cox's River Run (6Ft Track)

1.Kevin & Ellen travelling in blissful silence wondering why there was not the usual radio banter from fellow Rare Breeder's...... answer.. K&E had their radio turned to channel 26 !!  Will they never learn !!

2.Colin went to great lengths to plan an enjoyable and successful run, part of which included Colin taking a secret turn, not telling anyone else and tripping along on his own merry way!!..nice way to lose the convoy Col !!

3. Gel just can't contain herself anymore and blurted it out over the air ways... "Yes I'm easy'!! well what can you say to that, except it maybe understandable when Glen fesses up a long time hidden fetish for dried fallen bush wood !

4.Did anyone notice Kev was a little tense during the first half of the trip ? The reason why was that his favourite piece of REPEATEDLY USED CHEWY that resides on the front of his dash board took a deep six and went over the edge and was lost to mankind.

5. Did anyone notice how cheerful Kev was at the cuppa break at Oberon ? As he was getting out of the car he recovered his favourite piece of chewy, that is now proudly sitting back on the dash !!!!!!!!!! Creepy !!!

6. And what about Robert, showing us all how to put your 4WD  sideways down the road.......lovely.

7. Newcomer Joshua sure has the sneakiest snowball moves ever seen and delighted in covert snowball operations  making successful contact with several targets !!

8. And what about Ellen!!! making the rest of Jel's day cold, wet & uncomfortable by putting a snowball down her duds, lucky for Jel it wasn't the snowball with a Wombat poo in it.

BUGGER AWARD NOMINATION;

Bugger award would have to go to Robert Wright who has just come back from a trip up to Darwin, covering a  huge amount of country and kilometres while towing his caravan, only had one mishap, a flat battery. BUT on Sunday while coming home from the Cox's River Run,  blew his motor on the M4, in the dark and only about 30 minutes from home ! BUGGER !
