Clubs Expo 2009
Thanks 4WD Custom Action for the beaut raffle prize.
Club cars on display were:
John Chitty's Navara
David Colless's IVECO (Wombat)
Peter Tidyman's Patrol
Stefan Pryor's Pajero
Colin Pryor's Patrol (TONI) + Camper Trailer.
This was the 4th Clubs Expo & buy far the best one yet.
We set up between 7 am & 8.30 am ready well in time for the official opening at 9.
Being just inside the gate we were one of the first sites to be seen by visitors entering the Expo, visitors to the site were steady all day, we would have had many good conversations by visiting members of the attending public and I feel we may well get new members from that.
4WD Custom Action gave us a Piranha Recovery kit to raffle at the Expo, the prize was to be a simple recovery kit as a prize to TONI for best readers modification in an edition of 4WD Custom Action, however when I said that it will be a fund raiser at the Expo they upgraded the prize to the beaut kit that you can see below.
Renate was put in charge of the raffle, she did a great job with help from all & we received around $290.00 in sales on the day, the prize will be drawn at our July 1st meeting, giving us a chance to sell more tickets between now & then.
Due to TONI being well known on the internet (ExplorOz & a few other sites) there was a steady stream of lookers with their heads under the bonnet, as too David's IVECO is well known by members of ExplorOz and had quite a few visitors also.
Stefan & Bert had a competitive thing going regarding the Travel Ramp but due to a technical issue with the equipment on Bert's run, that was not resolved, Bugger.
The weather was a huge concern leading up to the event, but luck was with us and the day went off without rain, in fact it was a pleasantly sunny day and not too hot.
