MT WHITE 28.5.11
ATTENDEES: Peter, Gloria, Ed, Lindsay and Ej, Birdy, Chook, Michael
This was in two parts Peter and I were led the way to Greenmans Valley Caravan park to check it out as an option for our Christmas Party . Michael was to lead the next part of the trip into the once known Ourimbah State Forest.
We met as planed at Thornleigh McDonalds Pete & I arrived early so we got a coffee and light snack while we waited for the others Ed and Lindsay arrive 1st they were traveling together next Birdy & Chook once everyone had got their breakfast we set off (around 9.am) “look I got the time right” to meet Michael at the Road Worrier Café
We had a good run up the F3 where we took the Mt White turn off we met up with Michael and after more hot drinks for some we head of the Greemnans.
We traveled along Morgans road for about until we came to the turn off on the left. If you take your time the turn off is well signed posted. Although the road is seal it is not terrific there are some pot holes and the road is very narrow so be on the look out for on coming vehicles .Luck for us we did not meet any , when we arrived at the Park we parked at the office and got permission to check out the park camping .
Don’t be put off by the entrance as it is quite different once you are in the actual park.
We strolled around and had a good look at the area. We headed off about 10.30am.
Michael took the lead and we traveled on the old pacific highway up through Peats Ridge and onto Forest Rd we then to Toobeys road to Michaels’ Archery Club House we as the was a toile and shelter we set up there for lunch. After some went on a tour with Michael to see the layout of their targets we packed up and headed for the next track.
There was no really rough 4wd we had a good day.
We said our good byes at Tuggerah McDonalds.
Thank to those who took part. Gloria & Peter.
