Mt WERONG TRIP REPORT  16th 17th 18th JULY.

Lunatics that went......

Friday- John Chitty, Dean, Jason, Gloria & Peter, Robyn, Gary & Catlin, Kevin & Ellen             MT

Saturday- Colin & Renate, Michelle Bert Matthew & Emily.

We all travelled independently to the campsite, located approx. 50kms along the Oberon Rd and 20kms into the Blue Mts National Park. Arriving 2.30pm on Friday we found John Chitty and friends established and camp fire going and just as well as we were heading to an overnight  Temp. of -4 and the big excitement was lets hope it snows YEAH !!!

After setting up our van we all gather around the fire  until Gloria, Peter turned up with Robyn & Gary in their " brand new picked it up on the way "campervan... ooh aaah look at the pretty thing.

Back around the fire (I'm sure it was -8 !) Gary entertained us with 'GUESS  THAT TUNE' on his harmonica, not bad too, while the Chitty entourage cooked a chilli that was singeing eyebrows 20m away !  Another fart night oops fun night around the fire.

Saturday morning we woke to URBER frost and frozen solid puddles ..and still they were hoping and praying for SNOW ! At least the sun was out thankyou.  In rolled Michelle ,Bert, Matthew & Emily along with Colin and Renate in THEIR BRAND NEW VAN so we all spent a couple of hours  enjoying the Mt.Werong Caravan Show. Colin rounded up the troops and crickey it's a convoy off to do a drive through Abercrombie N.P while Kev & Ellen baby sat the camp & the precious firewood. Meanwhile our local park ranger called in acquainting himself with the 'campers' and having a whinge and bitch about N .P rangers working conditions. Many hours latter Kev & Ell are wondering where the bloody hell are they? When here they come bearing gifts of really good firewood.

Saturday night around a roaring fire heading towards at least -4 still calls of  'hope it will snow' . We played Kris Kringle or rip off your mate’s really good presie and give him your dud one. Gary kept us entertained once more and everyone seemed to have a fun night.

Sunday crack the ice off the dunny then stir up the fire and defrost, the sun was still shining, we spent a few hours swapping  gory stories and then broke camp, all agreed it was an enjoyable and successful cold  weather camp, good company & great fun Thankyou to everyone that came along
