Friday 17th.

All arrived Friday afternoon/night. We were all catching up with each other & lost track of time, we were reminded that it was after 10 pm & to please keep down the noise, we all turned in by 10.30 pm.

Saturday 18th dawned fresh & clear but very windy, we arrived at the Airport by about 9.30 or 10 am and all went our separate ways to view the ground static displays. A few of us meet up again by 11.30 & found a spot out of the wind with some of Stefan's friends from the North Coast. Buy now the day was warming up nicely & the wind dropped a bit & getting warmer as well.

The air display was as good as it gets, lively and interesting. It had too many highlights to even begin to mention here, all were impressed, with the possible highlight being the General Dynamics F111 "Dump & Burn" the icing on the cake.

The real fun came at closing time trying to exit the site with a few thousand others at the same time, after jostling and heated comments we got out of the site in around 40 mins. & we were just 100mtrs from the gate, I pity the poor buggers further in the grounds. Saturday night some stayed in the van park and some of us went to the pub for dinner, catching up again at the van park recreation room to watch the "Pamfers" lose to the Roosters, go you Roosters. This is the reason I got trip report, cos Stefan was pissed off with me for supporting the Roosters. In Bed again by 10-10.30pm.

Sunday 18th. some of us went onto the dunes to play (including the friend of Stefan) others packed up & went home. Those that did go onto the dunes had a bit of fun. Two clowns (no names) took childish delight with me getting bogged down in soft sand on the side of a dune, this is such a rare event it seems a big deal to those boneheads, I let them have their fun, god knows they need all the help they can get, LOL.

Most were packed up and gone by 3pm Sunday and had a good trip home. Nobody was disappointed with the show.

Cheers Colin.
